عنوان انگلیسی Anti-Toothache Medicinal Plants Used in Ethnobotanical Knowledge
چکیده انگلیسی مقاله Objective: One of the annoying pains is toothache, which may have tooth decay, cracking, and sensitivity to heat and cold. Medicinal plants are used in traditional medicine and in ethnobotanical knowledge to treat toothache. The purpose of this is to identify medicinal plants against toothache in Iranian ethnobotanical knowledge.
Methodology: In this review study, the key words medicinal plants, Iran, tooth, toothache, and ethnobotany were used to search for articles. Databases such as Google Scholar, SID, Magiraan, PubMed, Scopus were used for searching. Related ethnobotanical articles were used to review the texts.
Results: Medicinal herbs clove, ginger, garlic, chamomile, lime, lavender, turmeric, thyme, Bakhtiari Savory, Khuzestani Savory, yarrow, cinnamon are among the most important medicinal herbs effective against toothache in traditional medicine.
Conclusion: The herbal flora of Iran is rich in various medicinal plants and the ethnobotanical knowledge of this country is rich in valuable information and knowledge that are used in the treatment of toothache. It is necessary to use the valuable ideas of this study in pharmacological applied research to produce anti-toothache drugs.
